Sat. Sept. 8th, Opening day of the Hansens/Rob Machado Beach Faire and surf contest. Low clouds and fog greeted me that morning (photographers nightmare), but there was some surf. A decent little south with some leftover west wind swell made for some fun waves. The tide was low, but on the way in and it was getting better by the hour. the shortboard crew started off and then the longer boards had a go. Rob Machado (of course), Buttons, and the whole local San Diego crew were there. Food, music, booths, and a good on ya surf vibe were the order of the day, as another successful contest was run down Cardiff way.
