San Onofre State Park is safe for now!

The battle is not over, but this is a big nail in the coffin of the ill-conceived toll road that the Orange County TCA wants to put through a State Park in San Diego County.
The California Coastal Commission voted 8-2 to reject the planned 241 Toll Road and to protect Trestles and San Onofre State Beach.
It was a record setting Coastal Commission hearing with nearly 3000 people in attendance Wednesday morning in Del Mar. Many thanks to all of our supporters that took time out of your day to attend all or part of the meeting. There were hundreds of activists that were there from the 9am roll call until the vote at 11:20pm and to you we express our deepest gratitude!!

Surfrider could not do this alone and we are happy to join forces with great organizations such as Sierra Club, CA State Parks Foundation, Natural Resources Defense Council, Wildcoast, Endangered Habitats League, Sea and Sage Audubon Society, Defenders of Wildlife and countless others to achieve this common goal.
