From Hawaii to the mainland comes Patrick Parker’s “Surf Summer Series Collection” and Clark Takashima’s “Summer Show Aloha, revised works in radbowvision” through the month of August.
Both Artists’ known for their “surf art” are inspired by the beauty of the sea and the feelings they message through their art that transcends to themselves and others.
"To me, art is the gateway between reality and dreams. When I look at a piece of art, I am transported from my current state of being to the place or thing the artist has depicted. Sometimes, the way the paint strokes are applied, how it's composed, or which colors dominate the image, I feel warm, sad, excited, cold, angry, or happy. Great art will draw me into the world that the artist envisioned, evoke an emotion, and hold my attention long enough to form questions in my head about what is real and what is fantasy."
–Patrick Parker
“I've been exceptionally fortunate to have many positive people help me throughout my life. Now, I aim to help perpetuate the practice of Aloha through and beyond my paintings and sculptures. Connection not competition, I feel a connection with other Surf Artists in the way we all celebrate the Ocean's beauty in our work. Surf Art as an art movement, is a relatively a new genre compared to Seascape and is a perfect fit for everyone's connection with our Earth”.
-Clark Takashima
