On April 15th 2009, a day all Americans dislike if they haven’t filed their taxes yet, found new meaning to one lucky Floridian and his Economic Stimulus Package from FCS. Nick Skewes a.k.a. “The Greasy Burrito” and winner of the FCS Dream Quiver Contest received 3 surfboards fully equipped with FCS.
The FCS Dream Quiver Contest was a global drawing during 2008 where contestants filled out a survey in hopes of winning their very own “Dream Quiver.” The winner got to choose; a Shortboard, Fish and Quad from any shaper and have it custom shaped to their specifications. Along with each board being equipped with FCS plugs, each board came with a set of premium fins, a leash, traction and a dayrunner.
Nick Skewes of Gulf Breeze, Florida was
the winner and his “Dream Quiver” consisted of; a Shortboard from
Bill Johnson of Teqoph Surfboards along with a set of CJ and Damien
Hobgoods new fin the Goods-1 made out of Composite Core, a Fish from
Jason Stevenson of JS Surfboards paired up with Jason’s own fin template
the JS-1 in Performance Core and a Quad from Marcio Zouvi of Sharp Eye
Surfboards with a set of the Q-PC5 a Performance Core quad set up with
80/20 Foil in both front and trailing fins. When Nick was asked by Florida
Sales Rep Mikie Bates, who personally dropped off the quiver what he
thought of the contest he said, “This is awesome! I now have boards
for all conditions. I can surf better and have more fun.”
Much like Nick’s desire to surf better and have more fun, FCS is dedicated to finding new ways of opening up your surfing and allowing you to experiment with the largest selection of fins for any given condition on any board.
