Banning Longboarding in Talega

Leaders in the Talega Community,
I would like to appeal to your sensibilities on the matter of Longboarding (Skateboard vs Longboard).
Please
watch the attached video. It will only take a few minutes of your time
to understand my sentiment expressed very well in this platonic video:
As
you can see, I believe there is a better community based way to protect
our beautiful area. I would like to propose that roller blades and
roller skates are different. And that mountain bikes and road bikes are
different. And most definitely, Parkboards are different from
Longboards. I am happy that Ralph's skate park provides a place for
Park boarders. But how about Longboarders?
A long board is typically not a sidewalk grinder,
we don't ride rail, jump stiars, it has a much broader age range, they
are very quite and not destructive to property. They most definitely
are equal to road bikes in the manner of safety and have been surveyed.
That's right, more people per vehicle get hurt from road bikes than
longboarding. Old fashion road bikes are only accepted more because of
their fond history with people like you. I have nothing against road
bikes. It is only a point of reference. I would not mind sharing the
road.
Please, view the following site to understand that longboarders are organized and are getting very popular:
Finally, I would like to appeal to your San
Clemente sense. This is a town that is famous for its surf and skate
culture. Many media magazines, contests, retailers and professionals
reside/make their living right here. It is the presence of these things
that make San Clemente great amongst others great attributes. We are
not Irvine. I pay more to live the surf and skate life. My longboard is
not designed to be in the Ralphs skate park it is designed to be on the
road. Like my son on his bike, my skill is limited and I would like to
be able to ride in a safe environment.
Please, use wisdom when thinking about the nuances between long boards and park boards and make Talega long board friendly.
