2nd Annual Walter Caloca Surf Open @ San Miguel, Ensenada

2nd Annual Walter Caloca Surf Open @ San Miguel, Ensenada

On March 31st and April 1st, 2012, The United Athletes of the Pacific Ocean (UAPO) and WiLDCOAST will hold the 2nd Annual Walter Caloca Surf Open and US/Mexico Surf School Contest at San Miguel, Ensenada, Baja California. This annual charity event is the largest surf event in Ensenada and one of the few bi-national events in the Californias. With youth competitors from the United States and Mexico, spectators, music, prizes and other entertainment, this year’s event is expected to be a tremendous success. Proceeds from the event will support UAPO’s efforts to promote a bi-national surfing experience among youths on both sides of the US/Mexico border.

This year, UAPO is partnering with WiLDCOAST to provide promotion, outreach and logistical support. For the first time, many south San Diego County and Baja California surfers will join together at San Miguel for a day of competition and celebration of our collective coastal region. The event will provide not only the first organized surfing competition experience for many under-served youths in San Diego County and Baja California, but also their first opportunity to engage with fellow surfers from across the border.

For more information about the event or if you would like to make a donation, please contact Zach Plopper at (619) 423-8665 ext. 214 or zach@wildcoast.net or Alfredo Ramirez at (619) 886-2424 or info@uaposurf.com
