History: Its first shop opened in Dana Point in 1991. It has since opened another shop in San Clemente on Del Mar Street and has an easy to use website where customers can order their favorite items.

Owners: The shop was opened by Gary Wright (aka “GW”), a Dana Point local who had to work in restaurants at night during the first year in order to keep the store going. As the shop showed potential for success, Chris Andrews partnered up with GW. A third partner, Steve Price, later joined the duo and the three went on to build on the foundation that GW originally envisioned.

Team: The professional surf team includes Nate Yeomans, Raimana Van Bastolaer, Jesse-Merle Jones, and Micah Pitts. Killer Dana also has a grom team and a legend team, both of which have names who have been or will one day become fixtures in the surf world.

Shapers: Mark Ellis (Ellis Surfboards), Timmy Patterson (T. Patterson Surfboards), Hamish Graham (Hamish Graham Designs). KD carries shortboards, longboards, funboards/hybrids, softboards, and boast a notable collection of classic boards.

Brands: Reef, Billabong, Element, DVS, Volcom, Gravis, Osiris, Paul Frank, Hurley, O’Neill, and most other mainstream brands.

Future: Killer Dana plans on continuing growth while maintaining a surf-centered business. They pride themselves on their customer service and their aversion to opening shops in malls. They are currently opening a shop in Lake Forest off the El Torro exit on I-5.

Did You Know: Killer Dana strongly supports the communities that surround their shops. Dana Hills High School and San Clemente High School both receive significant contributions for school sports. The younger surfers sponsored by Killer Dana are encouraged to do well in school and are forced to keep a minimum GPA of 2.7.
