Katie Westfall

It is all about the little things in life for Katie Westfall, like animated penguins surfing, acaí bowls, or the post surf nose drip.  But the bigger picture matters too.  That’s why, when she isn’t chasing down a story, Katie’s trying to promote a more sustainable lifestyle for mankind.  That’s right -- reduce, reuse, recycle.  Check out her feature story on the history of Imperial Beach.  "After surfing IB and reading Kem Nunn's book Tijuana Straits, I wanted to dig deeper into what has made Imperial Beach the edgy place that it is," she said.  "It is such a forgotten land, raw and intriguing in nature and isolated in existence."
