Madiera

Mediera is hands down one of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen. We ended up there because 1) it takes the same swell as Mundaka and 2) the guys on the trip (Che Stang, Benji Weatherley, and Peter Mendia) had talked to a few people who said it was good. The surf was huge, but way out of control, and if we had a ski we probably could have gone to the other side of the island where it was a bit more manageable. Overall though, the waves during our stay were fun and in the three to eight foot range. The locals claimed that Peter got the longest barrel they’d seen anyone get on the island… ever. - Moses
