Vans Triple Crown Winner
Bebe Durbidge. No your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. Not only did Bebe Durbidge come away with a victory at the Billabong Pipeline Masters, the third and final event on the Triple Crown, he won the entire Triple Crown Event. Something he says was "always a dream." Durbidge (AUS) had a great run in all Triple Crown events. He came in second place at the Reef Hawaiian Pro, was eliminated in the quarter finals at the O'Neil World Cup, and finished strong with a victory at Pipe. For the first time since 1997 an Australian Surfer won the Vans Triple Crown. It is only the second time since 1997 a surfer other than a Hawaiian has won Triple Crown. Kelly Slater was the last Non-Hawaiian to win, back in 1998
