The ASR Runway and aisles are bursting at the seams with juniors and young contemporary stylesSan Juan Capistrano, CA (January 15, 2008) – Trend setting, young contemporary and juniors’ brands debut fresh summer and fall styles at ASR, January 24-26th in San Diego. Spurred by location, a desirable buyer mix and added benefits including a fashion show, ASR is the place to see 2008 trends first.
“As brands look for a platform to spotlight new collections, they look to ASR to provide a fitting marketing arena along with a diverse mix of key buyers,” says Andy Tompkins, ASR Show Director. “Fashion has become an integral part of the action sports industry. Buyers now come to ASR for an all-encompassing look at the youth culture, fashion and action sports markets.”
The ASR Runway show, co-sponsored by Foam Magazine, has solidified its position as a vital fashion event, highlighting the work of talented designers from the hottest brands in youth culture and the action sports industry. Young contemporary and juniors’ apparel will be displayed on the flirty, fast paced ASR Runway twice during ASR, on Thursday and Friday, January 24th and 25th, at 2:00 in Hall H, the swim area. The theme for January is “The Breakfast Club: Return of the High School Clique.”
All the brains, athletes, basket cases, princesses and criminals are being called in to dress for detention. Professional models present an assortment of trends that will hit the streets later in 2008. Podium Distribution will also debut their Matix Girls line in a dedicated segment of the Runway Show.
“In Fall 2008, we can except to see an assortment of beautiful bold jewel tones and natural hues spiced up on contrasting textural fabrics,” says Adria Heath, ASR Runway Stylist. “This season accentuates our girlish figures with tailored blazers and high waist cuts combined with relaxed coordinates. Fantastic pops of strong colors from high gloss accessories put a playful spin on everyday outfits!”
Included in the over 50 young contemporary and juniors’ brands exhibiting at ASR are emerging, designer lines, such as Spicy Clothing and Lucy Love and core action sports labels including Roxy, Billabong, Volcom, Element, Reef, …Lost, Rip Curl, Hurley, Split, etnies, DC, Vans, Fox Racing and O’Neill. Look for pieces from their summer and fall lines that blend on-trend styles with a surf or skate edge.
