12th Annual Paddle For Clean Water in Ocean Beach
Are you worried about the quality of water at your local beach? Well get on your board and do something about it! Join us Sunday, September 14th at the Ocean Beach Pier at 8:00am for the San Diego Chapter's 12th Annual Paddle for Clean Water. Last year, over 500 concerned citizens paddled or swam around the pier, each making their own statement for cleaner water. The impact? The city and county governments of San Diego are paying attention. They are responding to our demands for water free of pollution that harms our health and the health of marine life. The event is free of charge, and is a great opportunity to involve your friends and family in the clean water movement. The more people that show concern for the health of the ocean, the stronger the message sent to our local politicians. We should not have to tolerate closed beaches! A raffle will be held after the paddle to raise money for the Chapter to work for cleaner waters, beach access, and for the Chapter's Blue Water Task Force water testing program.
