The Department of Commerce Hearing
The Department of Commerce Hearing was Monday, Sept. 22, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The Hearing started at 10:30 and lasted all day.
A large turnout was a crucial part of our success at the Coastal Commission Hearing in February. Today, many speakers spoke about TCA’s proposed 241 Toll Roadand how it would destroy the State Park at San Onofre, and how the Coastal Commission's prior decision decision we worked so hard for should not be overturned.
The first 3000 who signed in received a free t-shirt and there were a number of activities and outlets for your participation in the hearing process, including writing comments to the Department on the spot, face painting, sign making, and a Rally at 2 pm.
Thanks to everyone that showed up. Let's hope that the decision will stand.

It was great to see everyone from the surf community out in Del Mar yesterday but let's keep up the fight as it's not over. Check SaveTrestles.org to stay up to date with what each of us can do to prevent the toll road's construction and save Trestles! If you missed the event yesterday, here is a clip from the day including interviews with volunteers. http://firststoke.com/videos/3565-save-trestles-hearing-del-mar-fairground/
