Surf Lecture at Quint Contemporary Art
Quint Contemporary Art is pleased to host an evening with Skip Frye surfer/shaper, Linda Benson five time U.S. champion surfer and Steve Pezman co-publisher and founding editor of The Surfers Journal. These three influential surfers will share their unique perspectives on early sixties surfing.The event, in conjunction with the gallery’s current exhibition Ron Church Surf Photography 1960-1965, will take place on Thursday, November 9 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Skip Frye, born in San Diego in 1941, is internationally known for his innovative shaping style and passion for the water.
Linda Benson, a native of Encinitas, won the first U.S. Championship at Huntington Beach in 1959 and was the first woman to ride Wiamea.
Steve Pezman began surfing in 1957. He was the editor of Surfer Magazine until he began The Surfers Journal with his wife Debee in 1992.
