Hansen's Hokie Halloween Surf Bash

Hansen’s Surf Shop in North County San Diego is putting on a surf bash on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. The idea of this event is to bring the North County surf community together in a fun and crazy way by inviting all ages to come participate in the first ever Hokie Halloween Surf Bash.

All day on the 31st Hansen’s will be accepting the entry fee of a carved pumpkin, but the real fun starts at 3pm when the masses show up in their costumes WITH surfboards. Then at 4pm, the herd of aquatic costume-goers will march across PCH down the infamous Swami’s stairs for a creepy glass off surf. Don’t miss this opportunity to catch some of the weirdest and creative surfing Swami’s has ever seen.

Chris Cote of Transworld Surf and Grayson Adams, promotions director at Rip Curl will be two of the three judges, critically dissecting each costume after the surf back at the shop. Hansen’s is putting up $500.00 cash prize for the best aquatic costume as well as hefty gift prizes for best mini-grom costume (10 years and under), best overall costume, and best-carved pumpkin. Post surf party for those 21 and up at The Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach.
