Make A Difference
The Extra Mile Adventure is a grassroots project that is committed to spreading awareness of our
environment, and cultivating cultural exchanges through community
projects and art. Observing a world in distress, amazed by the
abundance of beauty, committed to being in action, and evolving a plan
to make a difference, The Extra Mile Adventure has pulled together an
incredible group of people for a hands-on approach to making a
difference for our greater human family.
On December 1st,
eighteen individuals, a movie camera, and supplies will pack their way
onto a Bio-diesel bus in San Francisco, and embark on a nine week
journey that will take them through Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador.
Along this 7,187 mile journey this mobile community will stop in 11
cities, towns, and villages whose need for humanitarian aid far
outstrips the local resources. The bus riders will be lending 18 pairs
of hands to the individual pre-organized needs of each community as
well as performing clown shows and doing performance workshops with
kids, making music with local communities, and creating art. The entire
trip will be captured on film and be made into a full-length
documentary at the completion of the journey. For details about the community projects, click here.
In
a time when a conscious, global community has never been more important
to the survival of our species, The Extra Mile Adventure will literally
go the extra mile in order to forge ties across borders, bring aid to
our fellow human beings, and share a common humanity through artistic
expression.
