Surfrider 2003 Beach Cleanups

The San Diego Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation coordinates many beach cleanups throughout San Diego County, but we guarantee to have a minimum of two cleanups every month. On the second Saturday of the month we cleanup a North County San Diego beach (Oceanside to Torrey Pines), and on the fourth Saturday of every month we cleanup a beach in South County San Diego (La Jolla to Imperial Beach). To help out at an already coordinated cleanup, all you have to do is show up. Surfrider provides the gloves, bags, hand sanitizer and other essentials for cleaning up trash. All beach cleanups begin at 9am, so please arrive on time.

If you, your business or school group would like to coordinate a cleanup at your favorite beach an a day other than our Saturday cleanups Surfrider would love to help! Please email cleanups@surfridersd.org the following information: the date, location and time you would like to have your cleanup, plus the number of people you expect to show up, and if you would just like supplies of if you would like to have a Surfrider volunteer run your cleanup for you. Please understand that Surfrider is an all-volunteer organization so there is a chance that they will not have someone available for the date and time you request.

San Diego Chapter 2003 Beach Cleanups

All cleanups begin at 9am and last approximately 2 hours depending on how many people show up.

Second Saturday of the month - North County Beaches (Torrey Pines - Oceanside)
Fourth Saturday of the month - South County Beaches (La Jolla - Imperial Beach)

January 11th ? Moonlight Beach - meet on the beach near the snack shack
January 25th - La Jolla Shores - meet on the beach near the main lifeguard tower
February 8th - Ponto - meet on the beach
February 22nd - Tourmaline - meet at the bench near the bathrooms
March 8th - Cardiff State Beach - meet on the beach just North of Charlie's Restaurant
March 22nd - Coronado - meet on the beach near the intersection of Ocean Blvd and "G" Avenue.
April 12th - Del Mar - meet on the beach at the end of 18th Street
April 26th - Mission Beach Jetty - meet on the beach next to the lifeguard tower
May 10th - Street Sweep Hwy 101- Solana Beach to Cardiff - 9am!! meet in the parking lot at cardff reef
May 24th - Garnet Ave Street Sweep (PB) - 10am!! meet in the Chipolte Restaurant parking lot, on the corner of Haines and Garnet.
June 7th - Oceanside Pier - meet on the beach on the South side of the pier
June 21st - Newport Avenue Street Sweep (OB) - meet on the corner of Sunset Cliffs Blvd and Newport Ave in Ocean Beach at 9am.
July 12th - San Elijo - meet in the San Elijo campground area, near the video screen/lecture area.
July 26th - Imperial Beach - meet on the beach on the North side of the pier
August 9th - Tamarack - meet at the end of Tamarack Street on the beach.
August 23rd - OB Pier - meet on the beach on the North side of the pier
September 13th - Oceanside Harbor - Location TBA
September 27th - Windansea - meet on the beach at the end of Marine Street
October 11th - Street Sweep Hwy 101- Encinitas - La Costa meet in the parking lot on the corner of Hwy 101 and Encinitas Blvd, (the Leucadia Pizzaria parking lot).
October 25th - Santa Clara (bayside) - meet on the sand at the end of Santa Clara Court in Mission Beach
November 8th - Del Mar - meet on the beach at the end of 25th Street next to the Lifeguard tower
November 22nd - Imperial Beach - location TBA
December 13th - Beacon's - meet on the beach. Beacon's is located at the at the end of Leucadia Blvd, meet at the bottom of the path that leads from the parking lot to the beach
December 27th - Location TBA
