Link to Literacy - California Kappa Pi Beta Phi Surf Competition - 05/05/2007
On Saturday, May 5th, 2007, a major public entertainment event will take place in Pacific Beach to benefit the Pi Beta Phi philanthropy, Link to Literacy.
It is the fourth year the sorority has put on the event, but the second on the shores of Pacific Beach! It will span from morning to afternoon, 7am to 5pm.
Promoted over three major universities in the San Diego area, the Pi Beta Phi Surf Competition will be the regional philanthropic event of the year. The 10-hour event will feature more than seven sororities, six fraternities, a volleyball tournament, a competitive surf competition with three distinct categories - Men’s, Women’s, and Men’s Greek. The Men’s division has $500 cash for first place, winner takes all.

Also there will be a raffle giveaway, and attendance numbers is projected at 1000.
The goal of this event is to raise at least $5000 to donate to the philanthropy. Links to Literacy is a program with goals to provide service to the community in literacy areas, to improve the availability of academic information and opportunities, and to increase communication regarding our literacy program.
