SD Surf Lifesaving Association: Mike Knight Surf Racing Event
United States Lifesaving Association is a national, non-profit association of lifesaving professionals. The mission of the United States Lifesaving Association is to establish and maintain high standards for open water (beach) lifeguards, to educate the public, and to promote actions intended to result in the saving of human life in and around the aquatic environment.
The United States Lifesaving Association is composed of individual chapters. The local chapter of USLA is the San Diego Lifesaving Association, which provides safety lectures and media to schools, military groups, civic groups, and those attending public events. Its members are San Diego lifeguards. These services are free and provided by volunteers on a limited basis.
The San Diego Surf Lifesaving Association will be hosting the Mike Knight Surf Racing Event, June 24 Mission Beach in and have offered a three mile(about) sprint paddle to all SUP'ers if enough show up.
