Welcome to the official surfshot homepage of the Professional Longboard Association (PLA)
The PLA is a professional surfing association committed and focused on bringing longboarding to the fore front of the surfing and action sports industries. In 2008, the PLA's first year back from Hiatus, the PLA organized and coordinated 4 surfing events in Southern California and Baja California, 2 of which were sanctioned by the ASP, helping set the foundation for a qualifying series for North American surfers.
In 2009, the PLA is only getting bigger and better, pushing the envelope even further for the return of longboard recognition. The PLA has become an Official Qualifying Series in the ASP Longboarding Division, and will run 5 ASP sanctioned Professional Men and Women events in Southern California. Event locations include:
- Huntington Beach
- Ventura
- San Diego
- Oceanside
The PLA will also continue to build the amateur events, as they will hold Amateur contests alongside the Pro's at 3 event locations.
