Surfing Vets Young and Old Gather For Special Movie Screening

Big Red Productions held its 6th Annual Surf Theater Film Festival in conjunction with the 2008 US Open of Surfing, bringing increased attention to special surf films and filmmakers alike. This year was hardly any exception, as the event kicked off with a very special screening of the documentary film "Between The Lines". A film by Ty Ponder, Scott Bass, and Troy Page, it follows the lives of surfers during the Vietnam War era, most notedly the very different paths two California surfers took, and how it affected their lives. The evenings' proceeds went to benefit the Long Beach Veterans Prosthetics Lab.
