Spot information
Rating: 4.5Bottom: Beach break but there’s a jetty to the north, a mini jetty in the middle (Avalanche) and the pier to the south.
Wave: Right off the jetty, right and left peak at Avalanche, and a left and right at the pier
Locals: All Ages
Swells: NW and W (325 to 330 degree reading off the Torrey Pines Outer Buoy or 265 to 275 degree reading off the Mission Bay Buoy)
Skill Level: All
The right coming off the jetty is often a favorite wave of many of the local pros. It can produce any variety of wave types, from thick, dredging barrels to steep air sections. Avalanche (the smaller, pseudo jetty) is a meaty left barrel with a right corner coming off the opposite side of the peak. The pier produces a fickle right and a left.
