5 Questions with Jen Smith, Roxy Jam
CR: Where do you consider your home break in Pacific Beach?
JS: That's hard to say because I surf all over. But, when I go out at the Pier or Tourmaline I'll see people I know in the water for sure.
CR: What's your favorite board right now?
JS: A 9'0'' Takayama Competition model. I also really like my 9'0'' Firewire board. It flexes in just the right way in the barrel.
CR: Who are some surfers that inspire you with their surfing?
JS: Chad Marshall, the guy just owns Malibu. I also like CJ Nelson and of course Kassia (Meador). I always have a great time surfing with Kassia. We've had some good sessions lately at the Harbor in Oceanside.
CR: Have you scored any good waves in Baja lately?
JS: I was down there for a P.L.A. (Professional Longboard Association) contest at K-55 in May. Before that I caught great surf at Scorpion Bay last November.
CR: How long can you go without surfing before it starts to affect you?
JS: Probably a week. Sometimes it's nice to take a break for about a week. When I get back in the water I appreciate how much fun surfing is!
