Surf Movies Under the Stars at Fletcher Cove
The City of Solana Beach’s Parks and Recreation Commission is hosting the third annual Beach Blanket Movie Night at the new Fletcher Cove Park on Saturday, August 25th from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. This free event is open to the public.
Beach Blanket Movie Night will showcase two new surf films. The first, Billabong’s Frothing, features the most promising young surfers from around the globe. Next up is Reef’s Mixed Tape Bobby: Volume One profiling pro surfer Bobby Martinez, currently ranked #5 in the world. Moviegoers will also be treated to a special screening of FUEL TV’s Fin’s along with a few other surprises from Opper Films.
Look for free giveaways, plenty of refreshments and a raffle with big ticket prizes including a 6’2” Firewire Quadraflex Surfboard, O’Neill wetsuit, Electra Townie beach cruiser bicycle and more. Raffle tickets will be available inside the park for a suggested donation of $1.00 per ticket.
All proceeds made from donations will be used to benefit future Solana Beach Parks and Recreation projects or events. So bring a blanket, pack a picnic and head on down to Fletcher Cove Park on August 25th for a fun filled evening of movies under the moonlight.
