Ryan Alley

When swell rains down on California, and the surfing paparazzi digs in and sets up camp at the usual spots, Ryan Alley usually finds his own way, and, usually, you’ll find Alley in Mexico. Alley’s one of those guys who knows how hard the surf photography game is but insists that’s all the more reason you need to love it to survive it. The challenge seems to be his source of motivation. “I don't think that I’ve taken a perfect shot yet,” Alley said. “But I really want to make some great pictures.” Look for Alley’s work from south of the border in the “New Influence” and “Slide Show” features.
