Mike Melia
Mike Melia has had an eye behind a viewfinder since the age of 12, thanks in large part to the support and encouragement of his old man, Michael Melia, Sr. Mike's work first appeared in the pages of Transworld Surf when he was in the eighth grade, and more recently on the cover of the SURFER Magazine’s photo annual. This month Melia contributed two remote flash images for the feature that are nothing short of, and we hate to use this word around here for obvious cliché-phobic reasons, beautiful. "You've got to be very patient, you are going for quality over quantity,” Melia said. “Half the nights I shoot and do not produce a single image." Inspired by Tom Carey, Andy Verdone and Peter Brouillet, Melia is an avid adventurer who enjoys traveling the world with good people.
