Austin Ware

Austin Ware grew up in Riverside and was more into Big League Chew and a sweaty leather mitt than point breaks and new boards. Before getting too far into high school, the Ware family packed up and moved to the San Diego seaside town of Solana Beach. It was at nearby Seaside where Ware found a second home, applying his natural athletic talent to surfing in a  smooth crossover. Ware worked himself up the ratings with a good, old-fashioned, blue-collar work ethic and focused determination. A regimented fitness program and willingness to practice in all conditions is paying off with some stellar ‘QS finishes this year including a third at the Newport Beach Pro (although the points didn’t even factor into his top seven results) and a third place finish in the Macy’s California Trifecta.  With a higher seed and new support from Reef, Austin is set for a productive ’08 season and certainly one to keep an eye on.
