From ghostly whispers to abrasive chants, The Used are taking the scene by storm this summer.  As expected the songs are catchy enough for the tone-deaf jocks and edgy enough for the condescending scenester kids.  I can already hear the track “Pretty Handsome Awkward” being blasted from the windows of lifted Ford trucks cruising down Main Street in Huntington Beach. I poke fun, but this album is still worth a listen because Bert McCracken can sing and he’s a bit off his rocker like every epic rock ‘n’ roller should be.
