New Emissions of Light and Sound

New Emissions of Light and Sound is another ground breaking film made by the people who brought you Secret Machine and provides a dreamlike artistic angle on the beauty of progressive surfing and the natural world we surf in.

Style: 4.5 outta 5: The visual and audio styles of this video complement each other better than any other surf video I have seen. But this video is on the artsy side and may not be for everyone. The only reason this did not get 5 stars is because I don’t think it balanced the surfing footage with the amazing visual imagery. I was left craving more of the amazing surfing.
Surfing Quality: 5 outta 5. Unreal. Not only were the waves unbelievable, but they were able to capture Taj Burrow, CJ and Damien Hobgood, Yadin Nicol, and Nathan Webster at their best with some crazy camera angles. Being a surf video, I just wish there was more surfing.
Music: 4 outta 5. I am a fan of mixing electronic music in with surfing footage and there are few better musicians to do that with than DJ Sasha. However, mixing up the tempo would have served the overall video better and I wish there were a few sections with different music altogether.
Waves: 5 stars. There is little content in terms of where the surfing takes place but all you need to know is that it is tropical perfection. The waves they dish out in this video span all types, with heavy barrels to small rippable launch pads that truly display the unbelievable talent of the Globe Surf Team.
