More Agent Orange than sun-kissed sweetness, L.A. punk outfit Orange rocks with the brash audacity of their predecessors. Pinned with influences like the Sex Pistols and the Buzzcocks, and a discernible likeness between singer Joe Dexter and Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, the album revives early punk while adding its own anthemic pop-punk hooks.
Much of Escape From L.A. brims with angst and frustration, but a youthful spirit and prevailing optimism keeps the energy positive, especially on the tracks “What I’m Looking For” and “Not Coming Home.”
