About Saraina Koat Mentawai Surf Charters

Saraina Koat Mentawai literally means "Mentawai Wave Family". We are the only surf charter company in existence registered in the Mentawai Islands as an official Mentawai business (all other surf charter companies are registered in Padang or Jakarta). Besides being a surf charter organization, "SKM" is a boat agency, land finder in the Mentawai Islands, and a domestic travel agent. It was founded and is currently owned by Un, a care taker for the Mentawai Islands. Travel Information

The Mentawai Islands are as far removed from global politics as possible. Our Sumateran Operations Coordinator has reassured anyone interested in a Mentawai Islands surf charter that the present situation is as friendly and peaceful as it has always been. Ironically, the local population is looking forward to a prosperous surf charter season to bolster their lackluster economy. Saraina Koat Mentawai would not offer our services to anyone if we knew that any level of inherent risk would be involved. As far as the Mentawai Islands surf charter industry is concerned, it's business as usual.

Boat and Package Information

Our standard surf charter package on all of our boats is for 10 full days surfing, 11 nights overall. This package is all inclusive and includes three meals per day, snacks, juices, sodas, beers, harbor permits, all transfers to/from Padang's airport, and most importantly access to the greatest waves this planet has to offer. Most of our surf tours leave Padang on Saturday and arrive back in port the following Wednesday. Saraina Koat Mentawai Surf Charters operates six surf charter boats in the Mentawai Islands region. The Bintang, Laskar, Aileoita, Nagalaut, Navistar and Singalaut are some of the most luxurious and spacious charters operating within the wave-rich Mentawai Islands. All of our boats offer an air conditioned living space with a maximum capacity of eight to twelve surfers per trip. All six also have a tender boat for shore cruising, fishing, rides to and from the surf, or filming/photos.
