Breakfast: I rock the peanut butter on waffles the morning of a surf comp, but just a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch before a regular surf just for some weight in my stomach.
Crew: It matters. If I’m just cruisin’ and finding stuff to do I know I’m with my boys Aaron Bollinger, Sheriff Reggie and Peebes, but if I’m surfing I’m almost always alone or with Carlsbad RIPPER Sean Bacon and trying to shoot with Kelly Calligan.
Friday night: I don’t really get crazy like some guys do. If I hear of a good party I’ll probably mob it but no matter what, by Monday morning I always have a good story to tell.
Travels: Been to Baja tons of times, Cabo just as much, Costa Rica, Hawaii a bunch, Mentawais, Samoa and Australia twice.
Surfing success: 4th in the 2006 NSSA National Airshow Final and a load of other crap contests that really don’t matter any way.
Surfing aspirations: Enjoy it more.
Life aspirations: This year I received an Emmy Award for Technical Achievement in a high school broadcast level. I want one for every finger and I want them to be for my music videos now.
In 10 years: Like I said, 10 Emmys in 10 years but besides that I couldn’t tell you. If you were to ask me that 10 weeks from now it would probably be different than if you were to ask me again in 10 more weeks and different 10 weeks after that. It’s sad if you’re life it so static that you can predict it that far in advance.
10 years ago: I don’t know, I was nine years old. How much could I possibly have had going on at nine?
2007 World Title: As if I know? Unless Taj Burrow, Christian Fletcher or myself are in the running then I really couldn’t care less.
