David Pu’u

A former professional surfer based in Santa Barbara, Pu’u made the transition from board builder and CEO of a surf industry company to photography and has since built a prolific career as an image builder. His images have appeared in a variety of venues from museums to international publications in both motion picture and still form. He holds senior photographer positions at a number of publications. “In my travels around the world, I have found that there is no place quite as diverse as California in terms of waves, weather and landscape,” Pu’u said. “As you travel up and down the coast a variety of micro climates exist that defy the normal weather patterns of the state and you can drive to them all!”
