Pete Mathews, the filmmaker who created Shades of Bali, brings another beautiful surf video that expands into South Africa, Morocco, and other parts of Indonesia to complement his incredible footage of Bali.

Surfing Quality-4.5 out of 5-Like Shades of Bali, Under the Radar reserves a lot of screen time for a very worthy cast of Balinese surfers. Betet, Bol, Marlon Gerber, Rizal and Lee Wilson are just a few of the Indonesians showing what growing up in perfect waves will do for surfing ability. The video also documents the free spirited travels of Josh Mulcoy and Mikala Jones as they purposefully contrast the contest-driven lifestyle that many of their contemporaries have pursued.

Waves-4.5 out of 5-There are amazing waves in Morocco, South Africa, and Indonesia, and this video shows a lot of those waves in impressive form.

Style-4 out of 5-It’s really a pleasure to watch, and anyone who has traveled to the destinations showcased will probably feel a longing to return. The overall presentation combines interesting music with beautiful photography and footage.

Music-3.5 out of 5-The music goes well with the pace of the video. It won’t get your blood flowing to go out and try the moves that these guys are pulling, but it doesn’t have to because the surfing alone will get you pumped to paddle out.
